1. What exactly is Novanta, and why should I care about their headquarters?

Short answer: Novanta Inc. is a global technology company, but for the laser world, they're the brains behind the beam.

Their headquarters in Bedford, Massachusetts (novanta.com) isn't just an address—it's where they design the core photonics components that go into their lasers. I've called them for support at 2 PM on a Friday (more on that later) and got an engineer. Not a sales rep.

Why does that matter? Because when you're integrating a CNC machine and the laser module isn't communicating, you don't want to be bounced around a call center. You want a person who knows the firmware. That's the Novanta Bedford difference. 2. Is Novanta's equipment compatible with my existing CNC machine?

The unit arrived defective (bad RF tube, I think). The discount distributor had a 14-day return policy. The client needed the system in 3 days.
